Here's a long-overdue update on Eve. I've had some trouble posting to her blog so Kelly will post this for us. Eve has been in our home for about 6 weeks. We have loved and enjoyed every dog who has ever been with us but Eve has stolen our hearts. If we had a spot for her she would stay. First of all, she's beautiful. She's a tall girl, taller than our male, with long legs, a beautiful light coat, and an expressive face. We call her our "big blonde Evie". She's one of the happiest dogs I've ever met, and seems to enjoy everything. She has a confident personality but isn't assertive at all, and gets along well with all of our pack, including little guy Cosmo. She pretty much ignores the cats, and twice I've seen one of our cats walk underneath her. She's had zero accidents in the house and will go to the door when she needs to go out. Great appetite, and perfect crater. She sometimes will hang out in her crate with the door open. She sleeps on a bed through the night in our bedroom with us and the rest of our pack. I've left her out for short periods when we've been gone without any problems. She LOVES the yard and she LOVES stuffies. Those will be necessary items in her new home, I think. Oh, and she sings! Eve loves to sing and does so regularly. It's so funny and sweet.
Eve is one of our broken leg dogs but she is using her leg more and more. When we go for walks-which she also LOVES-for the most part you don't notice any limp at all. But she still bunny-hops in the yard when she's playing. I could go on and on but I'll stop. We're not that anxious for her to rush off to her forever home. But when she does---look out lucky family!
